MISSION STATEMENT
The Albuquerque Academy Speech and Debate Team is, first and foremost, a community. We value communication, honesty, and integrity. We feel that respect is intrinsic to the wellbeing of our community. The Albuquerque Academy Speech and Debate Team provides a cross-section of art, argument, and advocacy. As such, it is imperative that community members, including students, parents, and coaches, value the voices of all community members, support the efforts of their peers, and prioritize approaching work with a growth mindset.

The Albuquerque Academy Speech and Debate Team defines success as growth; success is not defined by tournament rankings.
The Albuquerque Academy Speech and Debate Team is committed to treating all members of our community—peers, competitors, coaches, judges, parents, and volunteers—with respect. We do not speak negatively about any community member, especially within a public space, including social media and group chats.
The Albuquerque Academy Speech and Debate Team believes that communication is essential to success. We are committed to communicating our needs and expectations, our opinions, and our experiences, and we are committed to creating a safe and positive environment for others to do the same.
